Publication Ethics and Policies

Publication Ethics promotes and encourages the development of high-quality scientific content throughout the publication process. The Journal of Xidian University (JXU) follows established ethical standards and supports recognized guidelines to ensure integrity, transparency, and responsible publishing practices.

All articles published under JXU follow a standard editorial process to maintain the quality and reliability of scientific content. The editorial process includes strict measures to prevent plagiarism, duplicate submissions, redundant publications, fabrication, and falsification of research data.

Plagiarism

Authors must develop original content while preparing manuscripts and properly cite the work of other researchers. Manuscripts found to contain plagiarized content from published or unpublished works of other authors will be considered a violation of publication ethics.

Duplicate Submission

Authors should not submit the same manuscript simultaneously to more than one journal for peer review. Manuscripts that have already been published elsewhere or are under review in another journal will be considered duplicate submissions.

Duplicate Publication

Duplicate publication refers to publishing a paper that substantially shares the same hypotheses, data, discussions, and conclusions with a previously published article without proper and clear reference to the original publication.

Redundant Publication

Redundant publication occurs when a manuscript substantially overlaps with previously published work or contains significant portions of another paper that has already been published, submitted, or accepted elsewhere.

Data Fabrication or Falsification

Data fabrication involves creating false data or results and reporting them without conducting the actual study. Falsification includes improper manipulation of research materials, equipment, processes, or selective modification, omission, or suppression of data without valid scientific justification.

Improper Authorship / Contributorship

Authorship should be assigned only to individuals who have made substantial contributions to the conception and design of the study, data acquisition, analysis and interpretation, manuscript preparation, critical revision, and final approval of the published version. Contributors who do not meet authorship criteria should be acknowledged appropriately.

Citation Manipulation

Citation manipulation includes adding excessive citations that do not contribute to the scholarly value of the manuscript and are included primarily to increase citations of a particular author, researcher, or journal.

Actions Against Ethical Violations

• Rejection or withdrawal of the infringing manuscript.
• Rejection of other manuscripts submitted by the concerned authors to the journal.
• Prohibition for a minimum period of 3 years from submitting new manuscripts by all involved authors.
• Prohibition for a minimum period of 3 years from serving on the Editorial Board.
